New Hope Presbyterian Church
National and International Support

Through the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance agency, we are able to donate funds to aid victims of natural disasters in this country and across the globe. We also put together health kits containing some of the personal items needed by individual victims. In recent years, some of our aid has gone to victims of flooding in the Midwestern and Southeastern United States and Central America, the war in Kosovo, and the earthquakes in Turkey and Taiwan.

Our support of the special offerings of the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) such as One Great Hour of Sharing, the Peacemaking Offering and the Christmas Joy Offering help to bring hope into the lives of people throughout the world. We also give generously to the PCUSA Unified Mission Support, which provides funds to many programs and projects.

A project that involves our whole church family is our annual Alternative Gift Market. Each December we sponsor a market where shoppers from the community can forego the commercialism of Christmas to purchase gifts from a shopping list for the world. Donations given in honor of someone on your gift list can be purchased for a wide variety of charities that provide things such as medical supplies, seed and farm animals, tree seedlings, bibles and shelter for our global neighbors. We also sell Third World crafts with the proceeds going to the artisans, and refreshments with the proceeds donated to local mission programs. This project blesses all of us with the true spirit of the Advent season. In 1999, we had the first gift market in our new church building, with record sales of almost six thousand dollars, all of which is distributed to the selected charities.

Constructores Para Cristo - New Hopers goes to Mexico. Annually, several members of New Hope give of themselves by joining a group of dedicated Christians from all over the US to build homes in Mexico. The work is hard, the heat is intense, the rewards are unquestionable. Christians from all over the US come to give the gift of shelter. Click here for pictures of the 2005 trip.
