Introducing our new Interim Pastor
Glenn Zuber, Pastor
New Hope Presbyterian Church welcomed Interim Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Glenn Zuber on January 3rd, 2016. Besides serving as a minister, Pastor Zuber is a church historian, writer, and occasional college professor in theology and history. He comes to the position with a wealth of training in the needs and possibilities of churches between settled pastorates. Pastor Zuber has earned degrees from Yale University and Princeton Seminary, and his Ph.D is from Indiana University—Bloomington. He is married to the Rev. Jennifer Butler, CEO of Faith in Public Life, a non-profit PR firm which helps faith leaders place their community work in the newspapers and media. Their son Eli plays basketball and attends middle school in the District.
In recent years, he has served in very different ministry contexts, and these experiences have deepened his appreciation of how faith can change lives. He served as an associate minister at a Maryland church with a special focus on young family programming, creative worship, and membership growth. He also led an experimental worship and contemplative prayer community on Dupont Circle, Iona DC: A Christian Community, part of the 1,001 New Worshiping Community Movement of the PC (USA). Moreover, he’s taught college and seminary classes in theology, Christian mission and pop culture at Wesley Theological Seminary and Trinity Washington University. All these experiences give Rev. Zuber a unique ministry perspective on how churches can creatively and confidently move into the 21st century by finding ministry niches and serving new populations.
Join us as we worship together and work in the community and around the world to share God’s love and message of hope for all.
